- Heart breaking
Just
when it starts to look like something its all got to come apart
for deburring and dimpling. I start with preparing and
dimpling all the ribs. It starts well using the pneumatic
squeezer and some "Tank Dies" as I have been told everything fits
better if the under structure is dimpled with these. The
picture of my dimpling setup is a bit blurred but you get the idea
anyway.

And
then it all goes horribly wrong. I don't have an HS404 lined
up correctly and I punch a hole through the flange. I
straitened the dimple and then did it correctly but now there is
an oval instead of nice round hole. I have emailed Vans with
the picture shown here and I will see what they say. Worst
case scenario is I have to order a new one.
So best foot forward and I continued with the rest.

Following on from this it was time to do the skins, remembering
not to use the tank dies this time or else they would need
replacing as well !! It took the rest of the day to get them
dimpled and prepped.
